EMMANUEL OLUWABIYI

Lead Counsel

Emmanuel Oluwabiyi was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989. He was for three consecutive terms, the Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee, Nigerian Bar Association Abuja Branch; a fact which testifies to his discipline, honesty and integrity. He was honoured by the said branch with a Committed Bar Leader Award at her 2014 Law Week. He is not only schooled as a general lawyer used to the orthodox means of resolving conflicts via the court, he is equally an Alternative Dispute Resolution lawyer having been trained and is proficient in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism and is a member of the Association of Professional Negotiators and Mediators. He is currently running his LL.M. programme at the University of Abuja, Nigeria.

He was the Legal Representative to the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the Federal Government of Nigeria Visitation Panel to Federal Colleges of Education at Obudu in Cross River State, Asaba in Delta State and Omoku in River State in February, 2007. He was a Legal Resource Person to the Electoral Reform Committee chaired by Honourable Justice Muhammadu Lawal Uwais, GCON and because of his desire to impart knowledge, he took up a part-time appointment as a Lecturer at the Centre for Distance and Continuing Education at the University of Abuja, Nigeria from October 1998 until the Programme was scrapped in 2000.  He has written many law-related articles on topical issues in journals and magazines in addition to being a resource person in many forums on legal matters.

Mr. Oluwabiyi was a resource person in the training of the present members of the 7th National Assembly between 16th and 20th May, 2011 to familiarize them with the business of law-making. He was one of the 41 lawyers that defended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in the 2011 General Elections. He was a resource person at the workshop organized for legal officers of the Federal Ministry of Justice with the theme “Application of the new Evidence Act 2011/Practice Direction in the Administration of Justice in Nigeria” held between 24th and 27th November, 2014 at Denis Hotels, Wuse II, Abuja, Nigeria. He is an active member of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) as well as International Bar Association (IBA).

JOSEPH OGAR

Joseph Ojebong Ogar , obtained his law degree LL.B. (Hons.) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1997. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in October 2000. He joined the law Firm in March 2004 as the Head of Chambers and is very proficient both in litigations and corporate matters. Also, he has handled very sensitive corporate matters as well as litigations.

Ogo Uwajeh Esq obtained his LL.B (Hons.) in 2004 from the University of Jos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in November, 2005. Before coming to work with Eagles’ Chambers, he has worked with the Legal Drafting Department of Ogun State Ministry of Justice, Abeokuta; Reliance Partners, a Law Firm in Apapa, Lagos State; Fidelity Law Firm. He has special interest in litigation and legal drafting.

HYGINUS OKORONKWO

Associate Counsel

Mr Okoronkwo obtained his LL.B (Hons.) from Ebonyi State University in 2008 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2009. He worked with the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria before joining the law firm. He has a Diploma in United Nations and International Understanding from the Institute of UN Studies, New Delhi, India; a Master of Comparative Laws (MCL) in 2014 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in 2019 both from Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, India.

Mr Okoronkwo briefly lectured at Jindal Global Law School of O.P Jindal Global University as Assistant Professor of International Law from 2018 – 2019. He is currently at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University Canada for his Professional Development Programme (2020-2021). Mr. Okoronkwo is very proficient both in academics, solicitors and advocates practices. Author of a law book and currently working on the second.

OLUWASOJI O. OKINBALOYE

Oluwasoji Oyetunde Okinbaloye, Esq. is a highly accomplished legal professional with a wealth of experience in both the corporate and litigation sectors. He graduated with his LLB degree from the prestigious University of Abuja and was called to the Nigerian bar in 2011. He began his legal career as a youth corper at the Ondo State Ministry of Justice, Alagbaka, Akure, before completing his pupillage at Dayo Akinlaja (SAN) & Co.

Mr. Okinbaloye’s career has taken him through various positions in the legal and corporate sectors. He spent several years in the corporate world as the company secretary and PA to the Chairman/CEO of Sea Petroleum Ltd, before returning to litigation practice as a Senior Associate at Emmanuel S. Oluwabiyi & Co. He is a seasoned writer with a particular interest in criminal law and justice and has authored several publications, including the book “The Rights of an Accused under the Nigerian Criminal Laws”.

As a public speaker, Mr. Okinbaloye is known for his ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve the impossible. He has a passion for helping others succeed and believes that everyone has the potential to achieve greatness. His experience in the legal and corporate sectors has given him a unique perspective and set of skills that he uses to help others achieve their goals. Ikechukwu Joseph Iwuozo is an Associate in the firm’s Corporate/Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Labour and Employment, Regulatory Compliance, Sports and Entertainment, and Communications Practice. He has been part of a team that successfully defended multinational companies and a diverse clientele.

He is part of a team presently advising a company in several real estate disputes. He has aptitude for litigation, arbitration and other dispute resolution mechanisms and regularly represents clients in courts across Nigeria on disputes relating to diverse areas of law.

OLASUNKANMI EMMANUEL OLUWABIYI

Mr. O. E. Oluwabiyi obtained LL. B (Hons.) from Bowen University in 2018 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2019. During his stay at the University, he was appointed Chamber Governor and was part of the Editorial team for the maiden Law Journal of the Faculty of Law.

He cut his professional teeth at the law firm of Afe Babalola & Co. between 2019 and 2020 during his mandatory National Youth Service as an Associate before he then proceeded to J-K Gadzama LLP where he served as the Special Assistant (Legal) to the Founding Principal Partner, Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, OFR, MFR, SAN.
